Laurie Allely of Lindsay whose home address is 259 Kent Street West and who was formerly Office Manager of Knitters Ltd. enlisted in the Canadian Army on September 1st 1939. He entered the 45th Btry R.C.A. with the rank 2nd Lieutenant. He was moved from Lindsay to Petawawa (Ont), Sussex (NB) and Tracadie (NB). Lieut Allely was twice promoted while in the service becoming Lieutenant on 28 1939 and Captain on 16 April 1941. Capt Allely proceeded overseas on 12 November 1941. He served with the army in England. Captain Allely arrived home on 24 February 1945 and received his discharge from active service on 4 April 1945.
