The Park and the Bus
Hamilton Spectator, September 6, 1888

Full Text

The funny man of the Hamilton Spectator is the author of the following brilliant, yet truthful, funnigraph :
Brer Livingston, of the Grimsby INDEPENDENT, sticks up for the management of Grimsby Park. He says: " Those who know the least about Grimsby Park howl the most. Those who have known and attended it all their lives and are capable of forming an opinion of it, always speak well of it. Now we will say a thing: Grimsby Park is the best regulated, best managed, cheapest institution of the kind in America, and we defy the Galt Reporter, or any other kicker, to prove to the contrary."

It is now in order for the Park owners to say a good word for Brer Livingston's excellent, fast-sailing, upper-cabin, side- wheel, clipper-built, copper-fastened 'bus, which makes regular speedy trips from Grimsby to the Park. For rates of passage and date of sailing, apply at INDEPENDENT office.

Thanks, awfully ! The Spectator is a good medium and we are much obliged for the free advertisement for THE INDEPENDENT, the Park and the 'bus. THE INDEPENDENT is not ashamed to stand up for the Park Co. The company has no reason to be ashamed of the 'bus line, and now that the Spectator is advertising all three we think we will get along nicely.
