Omemee Boy is Wounded in Germany

Omemee, May 11—Pte. Clarence Robert Clifford, aged 19, of Algonquin Regiment, whose parents, Mr. and Mrs. Roland, have received a cable informing them that he had been slightly wounded in action in Germany, April 30.

Enlisting in Peterborough, August 1, 1944, Pte. Clifford spent a few months training in Kingston, St. John, Quebec; Farnham, Quebec; and Debert, Nova Scotia, arriving overseas on Christmas Day, 1944. On January 11, 1945, he arrived in France, and since that time has served with his regiment in Belgium, Holland, and finally Germany.

Before his enlistment, Pte. Clifford was employed in Omemee by the North American Leather Company, and prior to that time was a student at Omemee High School.
