17 Names on Honour Roll of Eden Church

Mrs. W.E. Greenaway Unveils Roll

Eden Marpiosa, April 26, (PNS)—A joint service was held on Easter Sunday afternoon, April 25 in Eden United Church, commencing at 2.30 Three different services were held with Rev. Mr. Brown, minister of the church, in the pulpit.

After the opening devotional exercises, Baptism took place of five babies. This was a beautiful service to hear and see, when the parents stood at the front of the church and witnessed the minister, Mr. Brown, baptize their children.

The next part of the service was the unveiling of the Honor Roll of the church. Rev. Mr. Brown presented the Honor Roll Scroll to the W.A. of the church and a committee was named, Mrs. J.T. Cullis and Mrs. John Tamblyn to have this framed and to inscribe the names of all the young men who enlisted for the service of King and country from this neighborhood.

There are a list of 11 names, of those who are in the armed services which is purely a splendid record for Eden Church. One of those boys has paid the supreme sacrifice.

In opening this part of the service, Mrs. W.E. Greenaway, who has two sons in the armed forces, was asked to come to the front and unveil the Honor Roll by raising the flag from the picture. Mr. Brown read the names inscribed on the Roll and offered prayer very touchingly, speaking many inspiring and comforting words to all present, particularly to the parents of the boys in the army.
