Sgt. Earl J. Elliott and his wife the former Eileen Donavon, are expected home in the near future.


Sgt. Elliott is the son of Mr. and Mrs. James Elliott, 93 Melbourne St., Lindsay and was married in Birmingham, England, on May 18, last.

Earl J. Elliott whose parents live at 93 Melbourne St. W. in Lindsay, enlisted for service with the Canadian Army on 9 May 1941.


He entered the R.C.O.C. of the army and trained at Toronto, Ottawa and Camp Borden, Ontario. He was promoted from Corporal to Sergeant and to Staff Sergeant. S/Sgt. Elliott was sent overseas on 10 March 1942.


He served with army in England and during his service transferred from the R.C.O.C. to the R.C.E.M.E.


S/Sgt. Elliott arrived home on 23 October 1945 and was given his discharge from the army on 19 November 1945.


Previous to enlistment S/Sgt Elliott was employed S/Sgt Elliott was employed in the General Motors Stock Room at Oshawa, Ont.
