Clarence Braden Fisher whose home is at 137 William Street N. Lindsay, enlisted for service with the Royal Canadian Air Force on 26 November 1940.
He held the rank of Flying Officer and was stationed from November 1940 to January 1941 at #1 M.D. Toronto, from January 1941 to June 1942 at #5 SFTS Brantford; from February 1943 to March 1945 at Yarmouth (N.S.); and from March 1945 to September 1945 at Sydney (N.S.).
On 6 June 1942, Flt. Lt. Fisher was sent to Torbay, Nfld. From which posting he returned on 13 November 1942. For a period he was engaged in convoy escort jobs over the North Atlantic.
C.B. Fisher was promoted twice while in the service, to Flight-Lieutenant on 15 January 1942 and to Squadron-Leader on 1 December 1943.
SqdnLdr C.B. Fisher has the distinction of the British War Medal 1914-18, Victory Medal 1914-18, 1939-45 Star, and the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal with clasp.
SqdnLdr C.B. Fisher arrived home on 15 September 1945. He was given his discharge from active service on 22 October 1945.
