Prof. Fletcher is sketched in Army journal

An interesting thumb sketch of Capt. (Prof.) W.E. Fletcher, adjutant of No. 60 C.A. (B) T.C. Varmouth, N.S., appeared in the army journal recently. Briefly it stated that he had been born and educated in England coming to Canada in 1913. While in Truro, N.S., he enlisted during the last war and served overseas. Returning to Canada he resumed his profession as organist and choirmaster in the Maritimes and in Ontario, having served in that capacity in Cambridge St. United Church, Lindsay from 1934 to 1941. He is a graduate of the Royal College of Music and Trinity College of Music, both of London, England.

In 1941 he enlisted in the Veterans’ Guard of Canada and after nearly two years’ service as a Guard Officer in various Internment Camps was posted to his present duties.

In Yarmouth, he was given several recitals in the churches of the town and every Sunday plays the Chapel organ which is heard in the Hospital by a loud speaker system.

No. 60 is proud to have a man of such a caliber for its adjutant.
