It was reported to the Post recently that Lieut. Laird Gamble a local man now overseas, has had the misfortune to lose a finger in an accident.

Lieut Gamble enlisted in the Canadian Army on 1 October 1941 with the Midlands. After extensive training in Canada he proceeded over-seas in May 1943.


Lieut. Gamble is now (Jan 1945) serving as Administration Officer at Bramshott Military Hospital in England.
