Cpl. P. Green Earns Star Long Service
With the Canadian army in Italy — Now serving with an infantry brigade workshop of the Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers, Cpl. Pete Green, son of Mrs. Florence Grace Green, 14 Division Street, Lindsay, Ont., has earned the 1939-43 Star in addition to the Canadian Volunteer Medal and leaf. Cpl. Green took part in the invasion of Sicily in the summer of 1943.

Albert Richard (Pete) Green of Lindsay, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Green, 14 Division Street, enlisted for service with the Canadian Army in December 1939. He entered the Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineering Division and trained at Toronto, Ontario.
Cpl. Green was sent overseas in January 1940 and served with the army in England and in Italy. Cpl. Green was wounded in England in 1942.
He saw further service with the army and was again reported wounded in action in Italy in 1945.
Cpl. Green was mentioned in despatches in June 1945.
Gpl. Green returned from overseas service in May 1945 and was given his discharge from the service in October 1945.
A mechanic prior to entering the army, Cpl. Green is now employed in Toronto where he has married and is making his home.
