John French Kitchener Green of Lindsay, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Green, 14 Division St., enlisted for service with the Canadian Army in September 1939. Kitchener Green joined the Royal Canadian Artillery and had the rank of Gunner.


Gnr Green trained at Petawawa (Ont.), Debert (N.S.), and Tracadie (N.B.) before proceeding overseas with his unit in November 1941.


After further training in England Kitchener Green served with the active army in England, France, Belgium, Holland, and Germany.


Gnr. Green arrived home in September 1945 and received his discharge from the active army in October 1945.


Kitchener Green is welcomed back to Lindsay where he was employed as a mechanic prior to the war.
