Cpl. Growden is improving parents hear

Cpl. Charles Growden, reported wounded while serving with the 48th Highlanders in Italy, has now recovered sufficiently to be moved to a rest home, according to information received by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. Growden of St. David St. here.


The young soldier enlisted at Niagara Falls in March 1941 with the Argyl and Sutherland Regiment. He received his training in that city and in August 1941 went to Jamaica where he served until June 1943. In July, 1943, after returning to Canada he went to England and thence to Italy where he was transferred to the 48th Highlanders.


Cpl. Growden is well known in Lindsay and district. He was born and received his education here.
