Sgt. G.W. Guest of the PWOR has returned to Sherbrook Quebec after spending his furlough at his home at 69 St. Paul St.

Sergeant George W. Guest enlisted with the 1st Midland Rgt. On 6 August 1940. He was promoted to Corporal in six days. He served with the Midlands in Ottawa, Sussex (NB), Edmonton (Alta), and Prince Rupert (B.C.). He transferred to the Princess of Wales Own Regiment stationed at Ottawa, July 1942. He was moved to Sherbrooke, Que., Debert (N.S.) and Aldershot (N.S.).


While stationed at Derbert, Sgt. Guest was awarded the Canadian Efficiency Medal which is the reward of 12 years consecutive service.


Sergeant Guest was discharged in Ottawa, 25 February 1944 with the rank of confirmed sergeant.
