Born Here, Soldier is in Hospital

Was Wounded in Holland — Father is in Belgium

Word was received on Tuesday night by Mrs. C. E. Hazelton, 309 Buena Vista, Oshawa, that her son Pte. Donald Lloyd Hazelton, was wounded in action in Holland and is at present in hospital recovering, The official notification stated that no date or particulars as to the kind of wounds were as yet available.

Pte. Hazelton was born in Lindsay in May, 1924, and has lived in Oshawa for the past fifteen years. He was a studious lad and did well in Westmount Public School and in the Oshawa Collegiate and Vocational Institute where he received his education. He is connected with the United Church and was a member of the Oshawa Sea Cadets before enlistment and also the juvenile Orange Order. His hobby was modeling aeroplanes.

His father is also in the Army, but is in Belgium.
