Cpl. Lloyd Hussey manages softball team in Germany

We are sure the following post card message from Cpl. Lloyd Hussey, a prisoner of war in Germany, addressed to the Sports Editor of the Post, will be of interest to our readers.

It is good to know that prisoners of war are allowed some freedom to engage in sports.

Cpl. Hussey is evidently still an ardent lover of soft-ball, being a successful team manager.

Letter follows:

Kriegsgefangenenlager
Datum: Sunday, Aug. 29, 1943.

Dear Sir:

You and your readers may be interested in the results of the team I manage, in our Stalag Softball League. We finished our schedule yesterday, defeating the Calgary Tanks 9-3. Read good games have been played and teams are as follows: Essex Scots 2, FMR Royal Regt., Camerons, RAF, Black Watch, RHLI, Tanks, Artillery, SSR, and my team, Engineer United. We finished on top, with 8 wins and 2 losses, our playoffs starting this week.

Good luck and best wishes to all at home.

Sincerely,
Lloyd
