Omemee Airman returns to his home this week

Omemee, Jan. 2—Cpl. Arthur J. Jamieson, RCAF, of Omemee, returned to his home this week after serving more than three years overseas. Cpl. Jamieson is the son of Mrs. Carrie Jamieson and the late Ned Jamieson, of Omemee.

The airman enlisted in August 1940, and after training at Trenton and Summerside, PEI, was sent overseas in the summer of 1941 with the rank of Leading Aircraftman. After some months of training in England he was promoted to Corporal and was attached to 408 Squadron as a service mechanic. Having been granted a month’s leave in Canada, he reached his home here this week.

Cpl. Jamieson was well known in sports circles in this district, having played with the Omemee softball club and Omemee hockey club in the Peterborough league.
