L-Sgt. Kirley gets presentation at Kenny’s School

L-Sgt. Peter Kirley, home on furlough from Victoria, BC, was the recipient of an address and presentation by his neighbours and friends at Kenny’s School Thursday night.

The address was read by Joseph Cayley, while the presentation of a purse was arranged by S. Kirley and Dominic Farrelly. L-Sgt. Kirley in reply, thanked the fathering for their great kindness and assured them that although his journeys took him over a great deal of territory, he had yet to find a better country and finer people than we have here at home.

Excellent dance music was supplied for the evening and a lunch served. The event closed with the singing of the National Anthem.

L-Sgt. Kirley, son of Mr. and Mrs. Francis J. Kirley, leaves on Friday for his post on the West Coast.
