Village boys all liberated from Germans

Haliburton, May 18 (PNS) – Mrs. Jean Mann, a resident of Haliburton and is now in Peterborough, has received word that her husband, David Mann, who has been a prisoner of war is now liberated.

Mrs. Mann had not heard from her husband since December 1944 and great anxiety was felt during the past six months for his safety.

He was a Dieppe prisoner and hasn’t had very good health. Mrs. Mann is a sister of Mr. Rae Stinson, of Haliburton.

It is now believe all in Haliburton boys who were war prisoners have been accounted for and are safe in England. They are as follows: David Mann, W.O. Merrill, G. Bailey, W.O. Oscar, Pearson Yarnold, and L|Cpl. Lorne Barjarow.
