George Albert Quibell of Cresswell, Ontario, enlisted for service with the Canadian Army on 1 March 1941. He entered the army, joining the Midland Regiment as a Private

Pte. Quibell trained at Ottawa, Ontario, and was moved while in training to St. John (NB), Niagara Falls (Ont.), Prince Rupert (BC), Edmonton (AB). Pte. Quibell went overseas on 23 March 1943.

His training in the service was partly Commando. Pte. Quibell transferred to the Forestry Corps while in the service. He did not advance to the enemy but suffered foot injuries while serving.

Pte. Quibell arrived home from overseas on 17 October 1943.
