Mervyn N. Short of 169 Kent St. E., Lindsay, was a farmer before he enlisted in the RCA on 15 September 1939 as a Field Gunner. He received his training at Lindsay, Petawawa, and Brockville. On 3 May 1941 he was transferred from the 7th A Fld. Regiment to A-2 CATC. On 4 October 1941, Mervyn became a Sergeant, which rank he held until his discharge on 2 June 1945.
