CB Woodward enlisted in the Canadian Army in Toronto on 23 July 1941. He trained at Toronto. Dvr. Woodward served in the Guard of Honour for Duke of Kent in 1941. He went to Newmarket in October 1941 for basic training then to Camp Borden on 03 December 1941. He sailed for England on 17 March 1942 landing at Glasgo on 28 March 1942. He went to Farnborough, England on 20 March and joined the 41 Can Gen Transport Co around 01 June 1942. He left England in October 1943 and landed in Palermo Sicily on 09 November 1943. Dvr. Woodward took part in the Italian campaign in January 1944. He then transferred to the 1st Can Co Headquarters to drive the General’s caravan. On 05 April 1944 he went to bat for Major Power. He took M.F. course. On 24 February 1944 he left Italy for Holland.

Dvr. Woodward was born in Gamebridge, Ontario on 22 May 1911 but came to Lindsay 17 years ago – 1928.
