I'm in total awe ! I today found an image of the grade school I started grad 1.........in Sept 1952. All 8 grades in one large room. A rope to pull the bell. Watched big black locomotives steam past. Close by was a small general store. Think I recall it being about 8 miles outside Lindsay. We lived on a grand 100 acre farm, belonging to the nearby Hicksons. There was a drive to a Drive-In theatre, not that far away, it seems. My foster parents, Dorothy & Baden Armstrong. Foster Bro Rickey. Moved Fall '53, to Richmond Hill. End of Farm life. Frequently day-dream of those school days, unlike anything else thereafter. Had crush on my/our teacher. Seriously want to believe that I recall...hopefully... that there was a class photo, likely all 8 grades together, maybe on front steps. looked up to those bigger guys on the far side of the room, in grades 7 and 8. Help !..........how can I get any further info on this school, its students, in the years 1952 into 1953 ? And the Hicksons. Them, and that rented big farm, was just a nice long walk to this school, every morning, our dog Timmy would tag along, and returned home by himself. That sweet teacher married the man who put the electricity in the farmhouse, and there was a special day when we did "special" things in class on this occasion. Near the school was some kind of modest Community building, maybe used as a sort of Sunday School place, and a fancy Xmas event that 1952 winter---I had to sing solo one song. Want to find out anything more. Jim Douglas
