Notes
“Running the blower, which blew out the straw, usually fell to my lot, and it was generally an easy job, unless those building the straw stack were particular and did not mind having themselves covered with the outcoming straw occasionally. These were the days when the stomach was always empty, except immediately after meals, which were huge and literally tons of food seemed to disappear at each sitting.“ George C.R. Hall's words.
