- Dr. George C.R. Hall was proud to be Canadian. In an era when most Canadians viewed themselves as British subjects, his Canadian patriotism shined. George C.R. Hall wrote a letter in 1940 to the Globe & Mail newspaper, asking why the Canadian National Exhibition had large pictures of the U.S. President and British Prime Minister, but NO picture of the Canadian Prime Minister.
