MARRIED AT ST. MARY'S. - A quiet but

pleasant wedding took place at 1:30 on

Saturday, May 22, 1897, at the residence of

Dr. Spaaks, Church street, when his

daughter Eugenia was united in marriage

to Fred Fotheringham McPherson, B.A.,

English master of Hamilton collegiate

institute. The ceremony was performed

by Rev. A. Grout, pastor of Knox church,

St. Mary's, assisted by Rev. F.H. Brown,

of Delaware, Ont., in the presence of the

intimate friends only of the family. The

bride was a very popular young lady with

both young and old in the town. She filled

the position of organist at Knox church,

and a similar position with the Sunday

school. She was made the recipient of a

number of lovely presents. After the

wedding dinner, the happy couple left by

the 3.48 G.T.R. train for their future home

in Hamilton. Mr. McPherson is a native

of East Missouri, where he has many

friends who will unite with the Journal in

wishing himself and the bride many

years of happy married life in

the ambitious city.-St. Mary's Journal.

(Many of our readers will read the above

with interest, as one of the principals, Mr.

McPherson taught in the high school and

collegiate institute a few years ago.
