Runaway Accident.

On Saturday last Mr. Wm. Moynes, who lives near Zion church in the township of Fenelon, went to visit a sick friend and took with him his wife and two children, one a little girl about four years old and the other a baby. During the return journey in the evening, and when about two miles from home, he stopped his team and got out of the buggy to pick some elder berries; and while so doing one of the horses, in shaking its head, shook off its bridle, which appeared to alarm the other and they both ran away. After they had gone about forty rods Mrs. Moynes and the children were all thrown out together, and though fortunately neither was very seriously hurt, the number of cuts, bruises and scratches received by the family party formed an aggregate which justified a call for medical aid, especially as it was at first feared that Mrs. Moynes was badly injured, and Dr. Wilson, from whom we received our information, was accordingly sent for. Mrs. Moynes was by far the worst sufferer, as she had a cut about an inch in length and depth on the back of her neck, at the upper part of the right side, and another behind the right ear, which was also split, two or three slighter wounds, one over the left ear, bruises on the forehead, left shoulder and hip, and a pair of terribly black eyes. The little girl escaped with a scratched leg and a bruised ankle, and the baby's only injury was a black eye. All the victims of the accident are doing well, and Mrs. Moynes is recovering very rapidly, considering the number of her wounds and the nature of the one first mentioned. The horses, which before the runaway had always been remarkably quiet, got home all right, and the buggy received no damage worth mentioning.
