PROLIFIC PEASE.--Mr. Wm. Bulmer, of Lot 13 in the 3rd con. of Somerville, found in his field of pease one stalk which differed from all the rest and which for prolificness beat any he ever saw or heard of, as it bore no less than forty-two pods, while sixteen or eighteen are a fair average and any number over twenty something remarkable. He obtained the seed from Mr. Christopher Fell, of the same township, who is unable to account for the presence of the single specimen of a different variety, which instead of having pods all the way up, as is usual, put forth at the top of the main stalk a number of smaller ones, on which the pods grew. Mr. Bulmer search long and carefully for other stalks like it, and, being unable to find any, will carefully preserve the pease from the one he accidentally discovered and sow them next year by themselves. When we saw him he had not opened the pods, but will report upon the contents as soon as he had investigated them.
