Under its Brantford correspondence of

Tuesday yesterday's Mail and Empire has

the following wedding record:

A very pretty and fashionable wedding

was celebrated here at 1:30 o'clock this

afternoon, when Miss Margaret Neill,

second daughter of the late Robert Neill,

was united in wedlock to Mr. John A.

Phin, of the firm of S. T. Britton & Co.,

Toronto. The ceremony was performed

at the residence of the bride's mother, 78

Brant avenue, by the Rev. S. J. Shorey,

Methodist minister, of Peterborough, in

the presence of a large number of guests.

The house was prettily decorated for the

occasion with palms, flowers and cedar,

the ceremony taking place in a bay win-

dow behind a pair of gates of ivy, ajar.

The bride was charmingly gowned in

white silk, and wore a long veil, and car-

ried white roses, She was supported by a

single little maid of honor, her niece, Miss

Margaret Neill, of Peterborough, who

wore a pretty dress of all-lace with tufts

of organdie. Mr. Robert Neil of Peter-

borough, brother of the bride, gave the

bride away. Mr. and Mrs. Phin left on the

evening train on a honeymoon trip east.

Returning, they will take up their resi-

dence in Toronto.
