Several of the organizations I am involved with have started using technology to have group online meetings. They have used Skype for Business, and Zoom. I have been thoroughly frustrated at the meetings by Skype for business and Zoom- not being able to see all participants, pictures cutting in and out, background noises, etc.
But I have also used Face Time to keep in touch with family. In fact, we have had several "family dinners" using Face Time. We all sit around our own dining room tables, eat our dinners, and have great conversations. It has been wonderful to see our grandchildren - even if it is only through a screen. We have had no issues with it, and there have been at least five different screens going at once.
I still prefer face to face meetings, and that is the one aspect of COVID-19 that has been difficult. At heart, I believe I am a social animal, and I miss the day-to-day exchanges with friends, associates, and particularly our children and grandchildren. I also did not realize how difficult it would be to have to go without my hairdresser, my chiropractor, my masseuse and my chiropodist. I have really become attached to these people and the services they provide!
