Enlisted September 18, 1915 with 71st Canadian Infantry Battalion. He transferred to 118th Battalion and in France to the 1st Canadian Infantry Battalion.
Born in Roseville, Ontario November 26, 1891. He was educated at the public school near Hawkesville and at the Euler Business College later taking I.C.S.Course.
He was killed August 30, 1918 at a place known to the militia as Crow's Nest a little south of Arras.
Mrs. C.C. Diefenbecker, R.R.3 Wallenstein, Ontario is his mother.
On arriving in France he was attached to the 1st Battalion doing duty as an infantry man, later he was Company Runner and at the time of his death he was Company Clerk and was taking his turn in the line.
