A white index card containing the name, rank and military history of a soldier of Waterloo County. Card also includes a photograph and a red cross.
Notes:
Private James Frederick Ward was born on September 2, 1884 in Woodford, Northamptonshire, England. He was the son of Emma Trusler (formerly Ward) of 247 St. Andrew's St., Galt, Ontario and the late Mr. Ward.

He enlisted on February 7, 1916 in Galt. At the time of his enlistment, he was a machinist, single and a member of the Presbyterian Church. His regimental service number was 730484.

He served in the 4th Battalion, Canadian Infantry. He died of his wounds suffered during the Battle of Vimy Ridge on April 11, 1917.

He is buried in the Aubigny Communal Cemetery Extension in Augbigny, France.

Enlisted at Galt, February 7, 1916 with the 111th Battalion and went overseas with them on September 25, 1916.

Anglican.

He was born in England and his next of kin is Mrs. Trusler Ward, 247 St. Andrews Street, Galt, Ontario.
