Harold spent his last years in the Christie Veterans Hospital in Toronto. A photo I have shows him in a wheelchair with his leg up. What a long slow death! His 2 brothers survived the War. He was the son of John Voelker whose farm was on the South-West corner of Glasgow & Westmount Streets. He is buried in the Evangelical Cemetery in St. Jacob's, Ontario. A military grave stone was added in about the 1980s. He was not on the Waterloo Region Museum's list of those who died in WW1 but I think he should be added. He was the nephew of my Grandfather, Albert Winkler Voelker.
