"Numbers I and II of the Rolls of honor were originally published in 1865. The 1869 date on the facsimile title page in volume 1 for Roll of honor no. I, which appears in the Library of Congress copy used as the original for this facsimile edition, may represent an early reprint date. Numbers III-VI of the Roll of honor were originally published in 1866 and the ""Alphabetical index to places of interment"" (Nos. I-XIII) was published in 1868 ; Roll of honor nos. VII -XI were originally published in 1866, nos. XII-XIII in 1867, nos. XIV-XVIII in 1868, nos. XIX-XXIV in 1869, nos. XXV in 1870, nos. XXVI-XXVII in 1871 ; Rolls of honor nos. XXVI-XXVII are reprinted with the ""Statement of the disposition of some of the bodies of deceased Union soldiers and prisoners of war whose remains have been removed to national cemeteries in the Southern and Western states [in 4 volumes] ; Volumes I-III of the ""Final Disposition"" were originally published in 1868 and the volume IV in 1869.; Genealogical Publishing issued the set in 1994 ; second printing in 2001.; Volume 1 includes ""Alphabetical index to places of interment of deceased Union soldiers in the various states and territories, as specified in Rolls of honor nos.
