Silver Lake (Scow Schooner, 1889)

- Site Description
- The Silver Lake sits upright and intact with one intact mast and yard and bow sprit in 210’ of water. The damage from the collision is visible on the port side. It is probably the most intact scow schooner on the Great Lakes. Scow schooners were typically lightly built so intact examples are rare. What makes it even more rare is it may be the only scow schooner on the Great Lakes with double centerboards. The video model shot in 2009 covers most of the site. It was not shot with the intention of doing a 3D model or photomosaic but was shot to document the wreck site. The masts were not covered well but all of the hull is well represented.
