Description

Published in 1899, this booklet is a treasure trove of information that will delight anyone with an interest in the early day's of Toronto, particularly the east end.

The advertisements found throughout the booklet provide a fascinating glimpse into not only turn of the century Toronto, but more importantly, the community surrounding St. Paul's Church.

However, as then pastor John Laurence Hand summed up, the real value in the booklet lay in it's function as an, "important census list of the members of the historic parish of St. Paul."

Together with a brief history of the Parish, the booklet also contains a concise Parochial List of Parish members, as well as lists of those who made Easter Offerings along with their contributions.

The Parochial lists will be of particular interest to those researching their family trees as the lists provide names as well as addresses for each member of the parish. If you have ever wondered how deep your Irish Catholic roots reach back in east end Toronto, this directory may provide the answer.
