-Ci SUBMITTED PHOTOS The Leavens brothers, Clare, Arthur and Walter, operated an aviation company in Belleville's east end beginning in 1927. Above, an autogyro, the forerunner to the helicopter, was owned by the Leavens Aviation Company. During the Depression, the business reduced its fare to a penny a pound as seen in the advertising on the right. In 1936 the company moved to Toronto and today it is located at Mississauga.
