a£ STORE The Staff Doug Ellis Doug, who has worked at Leslie's for 15 years spent one year as the manager of the Lindsay store. Doug and his wife Jane have two sons, Jeffery and David. Doug likes a variety of different sports, especially bowling and golf. He looks after the women's dress shoes. Bill Gilbert Bill has over 36 years experience in the shoe business, working at Leslie's since 1943. Bill is in charge of the men's department. He is married to wife Jackie, with daughters, Kim and Judi-Lynn and son Scott. Bill enjoys staying at the cottage on Jameson Lake in the Bancroft area. Rob Rodgers Rob has been working for Leslie's for 10 months now. He works part-time while finishing grade 13 at Centennial Secondary School. His interests include skiing, tennis, jogging, and music. In July, Rob leaves to work with the Word of Life Band, in Germany and will be with them until 1980. Training important In the quest for perfection in footwear style and comfort, Leslie's has found it advantageous to offer a, staff training course. Bryson and Don Leslie, owners, ensure the staff take the store and shoefitting courses offered by the Canadian Footwear Institute. In addition, the Leslies and the staff attend shoe shows, seminars, and other courses and conferences related to foot comfort. In this way, the staff is right up to date on not only styles and colors, but the technology of the shoe business. Karen Scoff Karen, a native of Belleville, has been working at Leslie's since 1974. She is married with two children, Trevor and Brandy. Her husband John, is a transport driver. Karen is in charge of the seasonal footwear. She likes to sew, do handicrafts and camp. lane Dickson Jane looks after the leathergoods and handbag department. Before moving to Belleville, Jane worked part-time for Dominion Stores.
