arim Terri-Lynn Wallace, manager Karen Taylor and Sherri McCarten make up the knowledgeable staff of Marlin Travel. Missing is Pamela Masters specialists. Terri-Lynn Wallace rounds out the staff with three years of experience after taking a course at Loyalist College. "We cover all aspects of the travel industry," says Karen, proudly. Marlin is celebrating five years in Belleville. What began as a small operation with only two employees has now blossomed into a major travel agency serving the Quinte market. "We have a devoted following of repeat clientele," adds Karen. Marlin Travel has the latest in computer technology to keep up with the current travel trends, including VIA Rail reservations. They also have an extensive video collection (free for the borrowing), and they offer group departures out of Belleville. The 50th anniversary D-Day was a popular venture last year. Marlin Travel is also the cruise specialist, accessing Marlin's national group departures to obtain the best rates. And then there's the security of knowing, should the traveller get into trouble anywhere in the world, there's a Thomas Cook office nearby. Of course, the staff has had the opportunity to travel extensively all over the globe, but there's always that satisfaction of being able to send others to marvel at the splendor of the Alps, for example, or perhaps the white sands of the Bahamas. "I like being able to send people to different places; finding out about places I've never been," says Tern-Lynn. "I'm proud of this office," says Sherri. "I'm a real people person." "I like sending people places," says Karen. "Making them happy. That's what it's all about." Marlin Travel is open 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday to Friday and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturdays.
