"Our memory department, which includes scrapbooking, is our strongest department and it's the highest percentage of sales in the store," Scott said. "Scrapbooking has become a very popular way of keeping people's memories alive." The store even offers scrapbooking classes "to give our customers tips on how to preserve their memories." Stitchery is another good seller in the store, said Scott, adding Michaels carries all the hottest trends in yarns. Michaels employs certified framers and offers custom framing on site. It also has a designer to help customers with their custom floral arrangements. There is also the Wilton cake decorating department, which not only sells supplies but also holds cake decorating classes. Other items in the store include floral stem^, picture frames, candles, artist's paints, children's activities and beads, as well as seasonal items. "Our new best-seller at the store is gift certificates which makes a great gift on such special occasions like Mother's Day and Christmas," Scott said.
