Movie rentals ns City video centre opens Owners of video tape machines for their home television sets in Belleville now will have the opportunity to watch first run movies in the comfort of their homes. The Video Station, which held its official opening Saturday, is an outlet where movie buffs can either purchase tapes of their favorite movies or rent films overnight or for a weekend. There is an a n n u a l membership fee for the outlet and it provides members with first crack at the best movies and the store sells tape machines, as well. It is the 10th Canadian affiliate of the chain which began in Los Angeles two years ago. There are currently more than 300 stores across North America. 'The concept of renting first run movies is becoming increasingly popular and there are about five new stores opening each week," said manager N a n c y Enright. Such classics as Citizen Kane and Shane are available as well as new movies such as Popeye and Elephant Man. Mayor George Zegouras was on hand for the ribboncutting ceremony Saturday and there were coffee and doughnuts for visitors. The store, which is located at 450 Dundas St. east, beside Belleville Plaza, also boasts "the largest selection of children's films in eastern Ontario." i
