,, CoV c Wilma Alexan Alexander got involved in putting on school plays and acting in other productions in Trenton. It's in her acting days that she met and married her husband, Jim, who's well known in the local theatre guild as an actor and director. "I haven't acted in years, though," she said. Alexander has another passion besides reading and writing -- painting. She belongs to the Belleville Art Association where she pursues oil and pastel painting as a hobby. She's also a member of the Belleville and District Branch of Canadian University Women and has served on the architectural conservancy association and library board in Sidney Township. She's been a member of Beta Sigmi Phi in Trenton since 1956 and her community involvement was noted earlier this year by the international organization. The International Sorority presented her with the Award of Distinction for her cultural, social and service-oriented projects. She was one of two Canadians so honoured. "Everything I've done has been so rewarding. But it's also been a lot of hard work. Maybe it's my 12-year-old heart that's driving me," she laughed. P
