i City lawyer now sports military hat By Tom Gavey The Intelligencer f^^J. ( Q | cj i Prominent Belleville criminal lawyer Robert Graydon is now Capt. Robert Graydon. The partner in the city firm Butler-Graydon was sworn-in March 13 as a captain and le- gal officer with The Office of the Judge Advocate General of the Canadian Armed Forces. He will be Graydon based out of CFB Trenton under Lt. Col. Peter Tinsley, Assistant Judge Advocate General. "I was looking for an opportu- nity to get back into the military reserve in some capacity when this position was offered. I had been in the reserve in the mid- 70s with the Argylle and Suther- land Highlanders (Princess Lou- ise) Regiment in Hamilton," says Graydon. He wrote the Judge Advocate General's office in Ottawa inquir- ing about openings and learned of the need for a legal officer in this region. Graydon's primary duties will be providing legal advice for mili- tia regiments in Belleville, Peter- borough, Kingston and Brock - ville. "When I came to Belleville in 1977 I went on supplementary re- serve with the Hastings and Prince Edward Regiment. I had really enjoyed my experience in Hamilton and was looking for a way to re-enter," he says. To familiarize himself with the National Defence Act Graydon says he will probably have to take some courses with the Canadian Armed Forces.
