Edward Greenfield pass- ed away in Belleville General Hospital, on Monday, September, 26, 1955vHe was in his 5ird year7l .Born Tn Manchester, England, Mr. Greenfield was the only son of Mrs. Janet Greenfield and the late Edward Greenfield, He was one of a family of five. He had been ill for some time prior to his demise. Mr. Greenfield came to Can- ada, when he was five years of age. He became associated with the Northern Electric Company some twenty years later in Mon- treal. He was transferred to Belleville when the company mov- ed its electronics plant here eight years ago. His initiative and adaptibility soon earned him pro- motion and he was named assist- ant to the purchasing agent in an advisory capacity. Mr. Greenfield was a popular figure in" the many 'spheres of ac- tivity in which he moved. A sportsman he favored bowling and was associated with the Ma- jor "A" league here for years. Possessed of an amiable person- ality and the ability to make friends easily Mr. Greenfield will be missed not only among his in- dustrial associates but many friends in the city and in Mon- treal. He was a member of the Bell Telephone Company Pioneers and of St. Michael's church. He had been associated with Northern Electric for the past 27 years and two years ago was presented with | his twenty-five year service [ I symbol. Surviving besides, Mrs. Green- field, the former Doris Stutely, are one son, Edward J., Belle- ville; one daughter, Doris Janet Elizabeth at home, and four sis- ters, Mrs. Margaret Alcock, Mrs. Alice Borden, Mrs. Grace Taylor and Mrs. Edith Davies, all of Montreal.
