£ Farmer Pupils Pay Tribute to Miss E. .Grout T f , ' / SktWi i <«//<'*rf^^ "A Approximate!} 120 former Home Economics class students at Belleville Collegiate last night paid tribute to a former teacher who is retiring after 34 years on the staff at B.C.I, The gathering^ taking the form of a buffet dinner party at Centenary United Church Hall, was not only a surprise retirement party for Collegiate teacher Miss Erie Grout, but also served as a reunion for the girls who came from as far as Toronto and Ottawa and even Quebec. Former students from as far back as 1928 attended the par- ty. Mrs. Kenneth Kerr acted as master of ceremonies. Miss Grout was presented with a handsome blown glass centrepiece by her former students. "It was a real class reun- ion,'* Mrs. Kerr stated today. "'Some of the girls hadn't seen •, each other since 1928 and there were introductions all around." Next week at the Club Can- ara an official retirement party will be held by fellow teach- ers for Miss Grout and for Mr. Morley H.
