xxra PEOPLE IN THE NEWS Sarah's honoured yet again for elder successes Belleville's Sarah Thompson is a record-breaking competitor in the Games for the Physically Disabled, recovering from a 1974 stroke that took most of her sight and left her partially paralyzed. Holding every Cana- dian record in the blind masters division in the 100-metre dash, long jump, discus, javelin and shot-put, she is also the best in the world for blind competitors in the 75-kilo class for powerlift- ing and third best in Ontario in the able-bodied powerlifting masters class.
