His death came three weeks af- ter that of his wife, the fo rmer Helen Brown, Mr. Van de Wate r retired frorrj his position w i j h the high schooj board in December, Hj fv l , after 23 years in which he saw t h e sys ie i r grow from one collegiate- to five. He was also prominent in legioi work, and was a fo rmer pfesiden and treasurer of the Kitchener branch.
