Virgil Jaine* Dies Suddenfyx r<$\ In Hospital Well known Front Street' businessman, Mr. Virgil Glad- stone James, owner of James Texts Ltd. died suddenly in Belleville General Hospital yes- terday at noon. He was in his 68th year. Son of the late Mr. amd Mrs. George M. James, Mr. James was born in Waterford, Ont. and had lived in the Belleville area for the past 40 years. He had operated the station- ery and book store business founded by his farther for the past 25 years. James Texts Ltd. is widely known throughout the area through the publication of j high school examination papers which ilt has carried on for many years. About 10 years ago the Front Street store was destroyed by fire but was replaced by the present new and larger store. Mr. James was a member off Bridge Street United ChurehL He was past president of the Belleville Rotary Club and past chairman of the Stationery Guild of Canada aod was also a member of The Belleville Club. He is survived only by his brother, Leroy C. James of Grimsby. The funeral will be held Thursday from the chapel of the John R. Bush Funeral Home to Belleville Cemetary for in- terment.
