ones Jones receives CIM merit award f . A Belleville man 'has received the highest award presented by the Canadian Institute of Man- agement. Ron Jones was recently pre- sented with the 500 Club Merit Award at the institute's bi-re- gional meeting in Toronto. The award recognizes years of dedication by rendering volun- tary services for specific areas of the institute's operations. Jones completed his CIM training in the early 1980s and was a director of the Quinte branch. In 1986 he received his CIM designation and his Profes- sional Manager designation. Jones was branch president be- tween 1987 and 1989, and then was Ontario East Region presi- dent, a position he still holds. He's been employed at Stephens-Adamson in Belleville for 31 years. The goal of the Canadian In- stitute of Management is to pro- mote management by providing a national voice on issues affecting the management process, by in- creasing awareness of manage- ment as a profession and by maintaining accredited education programs. Locally, CIM conducts an eig;ht course study program at Loyalist College. «
