Peter Joyce of Quebec City fills the position left vacant by Rev. Michael Pollesel. Rev. Joyce will give his first service Oct. 1, says John Turner, a member of the parish council and the search committee for a new rector. Rev. Pollesel left the parish April 30 and during the interim, Fr. Brian Webber has continued his duties. He continues until Sept. 19. Rev. Joyce, 54, originally from Ottawa, has a bachelor of arts degree and a Master of Divinity from the University of Toronto, as well as degrees from the University of Windsor and Carleton Universi- ty. He is the rector of the Church of St. Michael and St. Matthew of Que- bec City, and is Arch Deacon of Quebec. He is also past president of the Voice of English Quebec, a group federally funded and mandat- ed to preserve a dynamic English speaking community for the 7,000 members in Quebec City and Chaudieres-Appalaches Region. He is currently on the board of directors of the Jeffrey Hale Hospital Foun- dation in Que- bec City, a member of the executive com- mittee and board of direc- tors for the Citadel Founda- tion in Quebec City, and is an accomplished sculp- tor, Turner said. Rev. Joyce recently unveiled a bust of L.L. Bean in Boston, for the clothing manufacturing company. Rev.
