< K.J. Macdonald New Manager Scotiabank Here Tlie Bank of Nova Scotia announces the appointment of Mr. K. J. Macdonald as man- ager of its branch here in BeUeville5 succeeding Mr. G. L. Tripp, who returns to his old stamping-ground at Arn- prior. Ken Macdonald joined tihe bank in his native town of Brigden, near Sarnia, in 1935. As it happened, all of his suc- ceeding Scotiabank positions have been in Northern Ontario. His wife, Hazel, hails from Peterborough, so both the Macdonalds are looking for- ward to life in the milder cli- mate and beautiful surround- ings of the Quinte area. During World War II Mr. Macdonald served for four and one-half years with the Sig- nal Corps, Armored Corp, In- \ fantry, rising from the rank of private to commissioned offi- cer. Returning to the bank, ; he worked at Parry Sound, Bracebridge a n d Sudbury, where he was appointed ac- countant. Next came the po- sition of manager at Penetang and Haileybury, from where he comes to Belleville. In his various locations he has been active in the work of ifae Chamber of Commerce, the Canadian Legion, Rotary Club and similar community organ- lea tions. There are five young ifa'Cdonaldsi: Sally, who is 15, and her four younger broth- Bob, Don, John and David. '
