Raymond and Lois MacDonald of Catharine Street didn't check their winning ticket until Sunday afternoon. The reason: Raymond was busy painting his house and just didn't have time. On Tuesday while in Toronto to pick up his winnings, Raymond said he called to his wife saying he got his money back on the ticket purchase. Then: "I realized it was worth $25, then $100 then... as I checked the other numbers..." Saying he didn't expect to be ever one of the lucky winners, Raymond, 51, added winning was 4'really great." A 30-year employee at Northern Telecom, Raymond said he plans to continue working until his retirement in three or four years and use the $50,000 at that time for travelling. Raymond and his wife, 50, have three children and three grand- children.
